Everton v West Ham Preview

Thank God that’s it over for another short while, a month to be exact. Yes, I am on about the International break. It was a disaster for Ireland. A 0-0 draw with the mighty Georgia followed by a 2-0 defeat to Switzerland. Leaving hopes of qualification hanging by a thread. We need to beat that Spurs git Eriksen’s Denmark in the last group game!

England didn’t fare much better either. Although, they did beat Bulgaria, following Friday evenings defeat to Czech Republic, which was their first defeat in ages, apparently. I don’t really know or care what that stat is to be honest. I struggle to care about Ireland let alone even think about England!

Enough of that doom and gloom though.

The good news is the Premier League is back this weekend. The even better news is our match v Everton is the early kick-off on BT Sport at 12:30pm on Saturday afternoon, so we don’t have to wait too long for our next fix.

TEAM NEWS

Fabianski, Antonio and Reid keep their places on the injury list. Fabianski having underwent surgery last Saturday so is now on the road to recovery but is still expected to be out until the New Year.

Rice apparently has overcome an illness and should be fit. Possibly the reason he didn’t start for England during the week. I wouldn’t know as I only looked at the starting line-up for England on Monday evening and was relieved, he wasn’t starting. Less chance of picking up an injury.

PREDICTED LINE UP

I am anticipating Pellegrini going with the same starting line-up as per the Crystal Palace game.

It is slightly concerning that we are becoming too predictable in line-up and formation. Any manager worth his salt should be able to come up with a way of stopping us playing.

Perhaps its time to go with something a little different? Two up front?

I’d happily sacrifice Lanzini for a game to give Ajeti a run up front alongside Haller. It might give Lanzini a kick up the ass he needs to up his game again.

Plus, regular readers of my blogs will know what I think of Haller and how he does all the hard work, brings in other players who then need him in the box to get on the end of their play.

He can’t be everywhere at once though and this seems to slow us down a tad in attack.

But we all know none of that will happen and we will line-up something like this:

I’m back on taxi duty for my son’s football. He managed to get a four-game suspension after getting sent off in a match. How can a 13year old boy get a four-game suspension? Are they trying to turn kids away from football?

I would accept it if it had of been a Marco Boogers or Julian Dicks type of tackle, but he was sent off for retaliation.

He was taken out with a kick to the thigh as he ran down the wing Matty Etherington style. He jumped up and pushed his aggressor on the chest. Who then, hit the ground holding his face.

Some kids are watching too much of this:

At least his football match this week is an early kick off which means I should arrive back home just in time for the West Ham game.

It’s West Ham’s first game on BT Sport since the 5-0 drubbing to Man City on the opening day of the season.

You have to love an action-packed morning / early afternoon of football. Let’s just hope it’s not ruined with the wrong result in either game!
